Frequently asked questions
The eye socket and surrounding tissues naturally change shape over the years. As they do, a prosthesis that once fit perfectly can begin to feel loose, tilt, or shift, even though nothing is wrong with the prosthesis itself.
Watch for a prosthesis that moves or rotates, feels loose or uncomfortable, causes excess tearing or discharge, or sits differently than it used to. Any of these is a good reason to give us a call, a refit is usually a quick fix.
We evaluate the fit and check the health of your socket, then enlarge or adjust the prosthesis in-office. In some cases, a new impression or a replacement prosthesis is the best long-term solution, we’ll walk you through whichever option is right for you.
